What we collect, and why

This website

The public site is static. It sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser's storage and loads nothing from third parties: no analytics, no advertising, no embedded content. It follows your browser's light or dark setting, which is read on your device and never sent to us. Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs (IP address, requested page, browser identification, time) to serve the pages and to detect abuse.

Your account

To use the planner you create an account with an email address, a password and an account type (personal or travel agent). The password is stored only as a salted hash. The email address is used to sign you in and to reach you about your account; it is not used for marketing and is not shared. A session cookie, marked HttpOnly, keeps you signed in; it holds a signed token and nothing else.

Saved trips

When you save a voyage the planner keeps the cruise line, ship, sailings, cabin, price at the time of saving and party size, plus the result and time of any availability check you run. These are kept so that you can return to them and re-check them.

Client books (travel agent accounts)

A travel agent account can keep a book of clients: a name, optionally an email address and notes, and the voyages filed under each. This is personal data about your clients that you place in the service. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record it and for what you write in the notes; Back2BackCruise processes it only to store it, show it back to you and let you move or copy voyages between clients. It is never used for anything else and never disclosed to anyone but you.

Searches

A search sends the cruise line, ship, dates and party size you chose to our server, which fetches the matching sailings and cabins from the cruise line's own public booking site. Results may be held in the server's memory for up to a day so that a repeated search is quick. Open searches in your browser are held in session storage and are gone when the browser closes.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone for their own purposes.
We do not run advertising or behavioral tracking, on the site or in the planner.
We do not take payments and never see card details. Booking happens on the cruise line's site under its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not send anything on your behalf to a cruise line that identifies you. A search carries the sailing and the party size, not your account.

Where the data lives and who can see it

Account, saved-trip and client data are held in a database on the server that runs the planner, with backups kept by the operator. Access is limited to the people who run the service, for support and maintenance. The service is hosted with a cloud infrastructure provider that acts as our processor for storage and delivery.

How long we keep it

Your account and everything filed under it are kept until you delete them or ask us to. Removing a saved trip or a client deletes it. Deleting your account deletes the account, its saved trips and, for an agent account, its client book. Server logs are kept for a short rolling period for security and then discarded.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to support@back2backcruise.com from the address on your account and we will act on it within a month. If you are a client of a travel agent who uses the service, your request should go to that agent, who controls what is recorded; we will help them carry it out.

Children

The service is for adults planning and booking travel. We do not knowingly accept accounts from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, for anything that matters to existing accounts, tell you by email.

This policy goes with the terms of use, which describe what the service is and is not, including that prices and availability are indicative and that Back2BackCruise is not affiliated with any cruise line.
